B-Galleria project space residency

I painted City Sphere Aura during my artist in residency of 19 days at B-Galleria, Turku Finland. www.bgalleria.net

Wondering and walking in the city centre of Turku to catch the genius loci, the sense of Turku in that moment. I worked there in october 2016.

Local Intervention

At the end of my residency I present the City Sphere with a local intervention in collaboration with local artists. Mirjan Raar invited me to create together the performance SPHERES TURKU.

City Sphere Turku extra large

SPHERES TURKU was a performance and collaboration between choreographer Marjan Raar (nl/fin) and artist Baukje Spaltro (nl/i). The performance was a dialogue between three disciplines: dance, light design and painting. All defining their own sphere, identity and territorium. A dialogue about identity, diversity and the proces of creating a choreography, painting and light design. It was performed during the presentation of City Sphere Aura. Five evenings end of October 2016 at Barker Theater, Turku Finland.

During the performance Baukje Spaltro painted the big canvassen City Sphere Turku extra large. As result of her artist in residency period in Turku.
